Want to increase the download speed of Telegram files? Check this out

Slow speed is always annoying especially when you want to download some 700 Mb file via Telegram. There is a bot out there to save us from this misery called @GetPublicLinkBot.Thanks to developer Ajeesh Nair.

NB: You can use this bot to download any type of Telegram file (mkv,3gp,pdf,jpg,epub etc.)


How to use this bot? Nothing complex just follow these steps. This method is valid for both mobile and desktop users

1. Open Telegram and search for Getpubliclinkbot

 






 2.  Just press START button

 

 

  3. Send the file you want to download faster


Wait for the reply. Normally reply will be like this.

There are 3 options available.

a) Instant Download - Simply gives you a link to download the file via external browser but not resumable. That means once you created that link it can be used only once (Not recommended)

b) Resumable link -  Here you get an external link which can be download via external browser and is resumable (Recommended)

c) Save to G-Drive/Dropbox - Here you get an option to save the file in your personal Google drive. Then simply download the file at any time (Most recommended). There is another option to save the file in your Dropbox account.


4. Click Save to G-Drive/Dropbox


A popup window like this will appear. Just click Open.





Your default browser will open a webpage with these options.

 



5. Select Save To Google Drive option

 

Now another page will ask you to Sign in your Google account. Just enter your gmail address and password to log in.

 


After Login, you have to tap the Allow button.



6. Your file will be now available in your Google Drive

Tap download to proceed



 Select Download anyway

7. Choose the path to save this file in case browser asked



Now you can check the downloading speed  and can verify that, this method is almost 2X times than normal downloading method.

How to get the Google Pixel Phone Look in any Android smartphone

Google Releases Android Security Update for Nexus Devices

nexusGoogle on Monday has released a security update to Nexus devices as part of the monthly Android security updates process. This update release is focused on fixing security issues in the operating system.

In the 'Nexus Security Bulletin-November 2015', they announced that "We have released a security update to Nexus devices through an over-the-air (OTA) update as part of our Android Security Bulletin Monthly Release process. The Nexus firmware images have also been released to the Google Developer site." In this bulletin Google has listed one of the most severe critical security vulnerabilities that could enable remote code execution on an affected device through various methods such as email, web browsing, and MMS when processing media files. Google also noted that they haven't received any reports of active customer exploitation of these newly reported issues.

The company has also revealed that partners were notified about the issues on October 5 or earlier. Source code patches for these issues will be released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) repository over the next 48 hours.

Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P Pre-orders Starts Today

Google's Nexus smartphones are arriving in India today. Nexus 5X will go on sale exclusively via Amazon while Nexus 6P will go on sale via Flipkart.

The Nexus 5X is manufactured by LG and the Nexus 6P is manufactured by Huawei. Nexus 5X will be released on October 21. You can pre-order it on the e-commerce website Amazon. The Nexus 6P is already listed on the e-commerce website Flipkart and the pre-order starts at today midnight.

Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch FHD IPS capacitive touchscreen with 1920x1080 pixels resolution and 423 ppi pixel density. The handset is powered by an 1.8GHz 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa core processor coupled with 2GB RAM. It comes with an internal storage of 16GB. It features a 12.3MP primary camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The camera supports 4K video recording. The device is backed by a 2700 mAh Li-ion battery. It also runs on the latest Android v6 Marshmallow. It is priced at Rs 31,990.

Huawei Nexus 6P
Nexus 6P features a 5.7-inch Full HD AMOLED display with 2560x1440 pixels and a pixel density of 518 ppi. The display is protected by corning gorilla glass 4. It also comes with fingerprint and smudge resistant oleophobic coating. The handset is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor with octa-core CPU clocked at 2GHz. The processor is coupled with an Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB RAM. Nexus 6P is available with internal storage options of 32GB and 64GB. The device features a 12.3MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera. It features USB Type-C port for fast charging. The device is backed by a 3450 mAh Li-polymer battery and it runs on the latest Android v6 Marshmallow. The 64GB variant is priced at Rs 42,999 while the 32GB variant is priced at Rs 39,999.

Apple and Google top Interbrand's Best Global Brands ranking

In the Interbrand's annual ranking of the world's most valuable brands, Apple and Google have topped once again. In the Interbrand's 2015 edition of the Best Global Brands more than half of the top ten spots are represented by companies operating in technology industry.

Companies are valuated by a calculation based on the company's financial performance, ability to influence customer purchases, and the extent to which it can support premium pricing. According to this evaluation, Apple's brand is valued at $170 billion and Google's brand is valued at $120 billion. Apple's brand value has got an increase of 43 percent while Google got an increase of 12 percent.

Microsoft traded places with IBM to take fourth place. Interbrand classifies IBM as a business brand. Amazon comes into tenth place from last year's fifteenth in retail category. Samsung stands same in the seventh slot. The other brands in the top ten are Coca-Cola, Toyota, General Electric, and McDonald's. Lenovo and PayPal are the new entries on the list where Lenovo managed to secure the 100th position and PayPal made its debut at 97th place. However, Nokia and Nintendo dropped out of the rankings.

Google Officially Becomes Alphabet

Internet giant Google is now owned by a new parent company called Alphabet. Alphabet is a collection of companies. Alphabet works under the leadership of its CEO Larry Page. However, Google will continue to work under its current CEO Sundar Pichai.

Google had already announced about the merging to the new parent company in August, but it took some time to officially merge to the Alphabet. According to a new filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Google has implemented the 'Alphabet Merger' which means that Google stock has been converted into Alphabet stock. But the stock ticker symbol remains the same. When the market opens on Monday morning, it is expected to begin the trading of Alphabet stock.

Alphabet CEO Larry Page said in an official post, "This new structure will allow us to keep tremendous focus on the extraordinary opportunities we have inside of Google. A key part of this is Sundar Pichai. Sundar has been saying the things I would have said (and sometimes better!) for quite some time now, and I’ve been tremendously enjoying our work together. He has really stepped up since October of last year, when he took on product and engineering responsibility for our internet businesses. Sergey and I have been super excited about his progress and dedication to the company. And it is clear to us and our board that it is time for Sundar to be CEO of Google. I feel very fortunate to have someone as talented as he is to run the slightly slimmed down Google and this frees up time for me to continue to scale our aspirations."

Google to launch Street View in India

Google is going to launch Street view service in India. Google is waiting to get security clearance from the Home Ministry to launch its street view service in India.

If google launches this service, people across the world will be able to see Indian streets even before visiting the country. Google has been offering Street View in a limited way in the country to allow people to see historical and tourist sites on mobile devices. Google, through a partnership with the Archaeological Survey of India, was given permission to add Street View imagery for 100 monuments, including Taj Mahal and Khajuraho in 2013.

Street View allows users to see how a city or a place looks like in real. Google uses cars and bikes fitted with cameras to collect imagery. Google takes all the individual photos that have been collected by the cameras and stitches them together to make the 360-degree panorama. This service is already available in countries such as the US, Japan and South Korea.

If Google gets the regulatory clearances, Hyderabad could be among the first few cities where this service will be launched this year.The Telangana government has already expressed its interest towards the launching of the service and they had recently met Google executives on the possibility of launching the service.

Google's Pixel C Tablet in Development

A new report has claimed that Google is working on a new tablet with Pixel branding. The company has previously launched two Chromebook Pixel laptops. Now google is planning to bring the Pixel branding for its new tablet.

The upcoming Pixel C Tablet is expected to feature 10.2-inch display with a ppi of 308. The device is expected to use a quad-core Nvidia Tegra X1 processor coupled with Maxwell GPU. The tablet is likely to include 3GB of LPDDR4 RAM. Instead of Chrome OS, the Pixel C Tablet is expected to run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The device is likely to be released in November.

Google celebrates 17th birthday


Google has turned 17 years today and is celebrating its birthday with a special doodle on the homepage. The doodle, which features on Google's homepage, shows a retro, plastic PC, lava lamp and even 1998's "Google!" logo.

The Linux penguin peeps from behind a CRT monitor displaying the first Google home page. Humming on its side is a server made of Lego bricks. Google looks back at its early days in its '17th birthday doodle.'

In a blogpost, google said "In the world of computer programming, 17 is widely considered the least random number. To assume we made it this far without a little luck, though, would be like assuming lava lamps, turtlenecks, and servers held together by building blocks are harbingers of success. For our 17th birthday, we offer a glimpse into our humble beginnings, when branded hockey jerseys were cool and Savage Garden had a number-one single."

However, not even Google seems to really know when it was formed. Since 2006, it has celebrated its birthday on September 27, but the year before that, had it on September 26.
In 2004, its 6th birthday Doodle went online on September 7 and in the year before that, it was September 8. 

Google has celebrated its birthday with a Doodle every year since its fourth birthday in 2002.

Google sends out invites for an event on 29 September

Google has sent out an invitation for an event on September 29 in San Francisco .The company is rumoured to unveil the next Nexus phones, which are said to be manufactured by LG and Huawei during this event. In addition to that Google might also unveil the second-gen Chromecast streaming device. Google is also planning to showcase the final version of Android Marshmallow in the event.

This upcoming event is the first big event of google under Sundar Pichai since the reorganization. This will be the first time that Huawei will manufacture a smartphone for Google, while for LG, this would be the third time that the company will make a Nexus smartphone for Google, following the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 smartphones. In addition, these phones might the first to run Android 6.0, nicknamed Marshmallow.

Recently, details of the Nexus smartphone, made by LG, were leaked. The new smartphone by LG will offer a rear fingerprint scanner along with a metal frame and plastic rear. In addition, the front panel will showoff dual-stereo speakers. Other rumoured specifications include a 3D camera along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. The report also suggests that the screen will be offered in 5.2 inches and will be 146.9mm high, 72.9mm wide and 8mm thick.On the camera front, it is expected to come with a 12.3MP sensor and a front-facing 5MP sensor. The device will be made available in 16GB and 32GB models. The report also suggests type C USB port and a 2700mAh battery. The Huawei Nexus smartphone is rumoured to sport a 5.7-inch QHD screen with 2560 x 1440 pixels, a metal body, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3 GB of RAM, 12 MP rear camera, 8 MP front camera and a fingerprint reader.

The rumor says that there is a brand new Chromecast hardware is set for debut at the Google event. In terms of design, the new hardware will be completely different from the older Chromecast. It will no longer be a dongle form factor.Apart from a different design, the new generation Chromecast is expected to come with features such as support for Wi-fi 802.11ac as opposed to previous generation’s support for Wi-fi 802.11n. There will also be support for ‘content feeds’ which could probably be your social media feeds or image feeds, which can play when your Chromecast is in the screensaver mode.

Users will be able to see the live event on the 29th at 9AM PST.

Google launches donation-matching campaign for refugees


Google announced a donation-matching campaign for refugees. Google aims to raise $11 million for humanitarian organizations aiding the thousands of refugees who have fled war-torn and impoverished countries. The search giant, which has already donated about $1 million to human rights organizations working to help refugees, is now publishing a banner ad, urging its users to give, with a “Donate” button. Click the button, and it leads you to a website, where Google explains it will match 100 percent of donations it receives until it reaches its goal of $11 million.
Donations will be distributed to four nonprofit organizations providing aid such as food, water, shelter and medical care to refugees and migrants- Doctors Without Borders, International Rescue Committee, Save the Children and UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Google said it will match the first $5.5 million worth of donations globally at google.com/refugee relief until it raises $11 million.
Google announced its matching plan in a blog post this week, written by a Google employee named Rita Masoud who is also a refugee from Afghanistan.
Rita Masoud wrote on the blog post as 
  "My name is Rita Masoud and I am a refugee. I was born in war-torn Kabul, Afghanistan. When I was seven, my family and I fled to Europe with our belongings in a single suitcase, hoping for a safer and better future. Our journey involved many dark train and bus rides, as well as hunger, thirst, cold and fear. Fortunately, we received asylum in The Netherlands, where I grew up in a safe environment and was able to find my way in life. Today, I work for Google in California.
I was lucky. But as the refugee and migrant crisis has grown, many people like my family are desperate for help. Last week, Google announced a €1 million (~$1.1 million) donation to organizations who are providing front-line humanitarian relief to refugees and migrants around the world. Today, we're inviting you to join us. To double the impact of your contribution, we’ll match the first €5 million (~$5.5 million) in donations globally, until together we raise €10 million (~$11 million) for relief efforts."
