Xiaomi is planning to launch Xiaomi Redmi 3 smartphone on January 12. The Redmi 3 is the successor to Xiaomi's Redmi 2 smartphone.
Xiaomi posted on its Weibo account that the Redmi 3 smartphone will have a 5-inch display and it will comes with a redesigned metal body.
Xiaomi hasn't revealed its full specifications yet. But the Redmi 3 is rumoured to be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The smartphone is expected to come with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
According to the rumors, the Redmi 3 smartphone will use a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. The handset is expected to run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system.
In December, Xiaomi launched Redmi Note Prime priced at Rs 8,499. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal flash memory. The smartphone sports a 13MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and ƒ/2.2 aperture. It also features a 5MP front facing camera. The handset also packs a 3100mAh Lithium-polymer battery providing a talk-time of 38 hours and a standby time of 775 hours.
